I just turned 63, so I'm used to getting unrequested discounts, but I remember my first -- I bought a swim suit at a resort and they gave "senior" discounts to anyone 50+. Had to laugh. Even then, I had plans to be a real senior for many, many decades.

Thank you so much for the list. As a retired teacher on a fixed income, this will be very helpful. Wish the government gave a senior discount!

You can add Borics on Tuesdays to that list in the Detroit area.

By the time I became "of age" Ames was out of business. I think DD are locally owned franchises so it may be different depending on the location. Thanks for the list.

We are not so lucky here in Uk, B&Q which is our DIY gives 10% wednesdays, but I notice a lot of places on the list are also here in UK, so why do they not give us the same discount. I do ask at plenty of places but Never get any discount. We do get local bus travel free, but it is over 60's.I am going to print the list and see what they say,

chuckling here when I remember going to the bookstore when I was in a Catholic college and wearing a white blouse with navy blue wrap around skirt. The student at the register gave me a discount and when I asked why she said all the nuns get a discount. I was not a nun so i told her. Its not nice or honest to take advantage of businesses who try to be nice to real seniors or nuns Funny thing was, the real nun was wearing a floral print shirt waist dress next to me. It was the 60s when styles were modernizing for the nuns.
