I can tell you after many, many years of rescue work, they only expose their bellies when they feel safe. In our house, we always looks for the belly roll. That is an indication that they know that there is nothing to fear in this place and that they are being and will be taken care of.
Their natural instinct is to protect their underside as this is where they are most vulnerable. When the roll on their back that is basically a signal to you that they understand that you love them and will protect them from the bad stuff.
Congrats again - she is beautiful, but then again, I am partial to the Siamese-esque babies.

I have a Pearl, too!
She's a tuxedo cat - black and white - and her markings looked like a pearl necklace around her throat when I first saw her. She was a barn cat that decided she liked the leisure life of daily feeds on my front porch and the protection of the wellhouse in winter. Because she likes to scratch her back on the concrete step and roll over to show her fat belly, I often call her Whirly Pearlie. She the best purr-er around. :D
