Hi everyone, such an interesting thread! My name is Dee (Lace) age 55 and counting. I live in Washington, NJ A friend gave me a quick lesson last Nov. 09 and I have been going ever since. I have 2 sons, 2DIL, 3 grands, 2 border collies and of course a DH and a messy sewing room (junk rm) I collect pink depression glass and dust! We will vacation this summer in Maine, any good fabric shopping places between NJ and Maine? I am disabled from a car accident, have chronic pain in my neck, have good days and bad. On the good days I quilt, sew, and may find a little time to clean?! Love this forum!!!!!!!!!!! Lace

Don't know yet. We spent 18 years in Clarksville. I want to go back there, but where DH finds a job will be the deciding factor.
We're from Knoxville, but that's not home anymore. Been gone from there for to many years, and it's gotten way to big for us. We like country living, I'm not a city girl any more.

Hi, I am Pam B. and I am also from north central IN. (Craftybear we will have to arrange to meet sometime this summer.) I am 53 (soon to be 54) and I teach kdg. My DH and I have 3 children...our son is 27 and two daughters 22 and 20 who are both in college. Our son was married in March and we have no grandchildren. We do have a very spoiled Border Collie (outside dog except during thunderstorms) and this summer we also have our DDs dog living with us. I spend way too much time on my computer so, therefore, I do not do as much quilting as I would like/should be doing.

I am Dotty and I have been looking for some quilters from NYC. One sweetheart will move here soon and there is another friend in Queens. SO- I took a class on Sunday and invited all the simpatico ladies to join QB. This was a terrific group. And since I am pretty socially aggressive, I'm having a Quilters' Tea on July 18. My place. Please come, CraftyBear!

Hello everyone! I'm Pam and I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan with my husband of 5 years. I'm 57 (58 in a few weeks!) and I've been quilting since I made a baby quilt for my daughter 35 years ago! I didn't do much quilting when my kids were home, but have really become addicted in the last 10 years. Four years ago, I started teaching quilt classes and I love that! Now I'm starting a retreat "business". I hope to hold week-long private retreats for about 6 to 8 women in different resorts throughout the midwest, so if you're interested, give me a hollar! I love this site and spend way too much time on it! We're also busy refurbishing an old historic home, so a lot of my time is spent helping my husband hang drywall, mud, paint, etc. It's a huge undertaking and I often feel we have bitten off more than we can chew but it's coming along. I belong to a quilt guild, but I don't go every month because it's over an hour away and I hate to drive alone so I only go when my friend or daughter go with me. I'd like to go tonight because I want to stop at JoAnns and get a bolt of muslin that's on sale. I'm retired and I love to travel, so I'm always ready and willing to go anywhere quilt related if I can find someone to ride along and if the budget allows. And I'd love to meet other quilters!
