... here in the USA, I think we should all pause a minute and think about the meaning of this day. It's not just bbq and sales and a day off from work.

Please take a minute to give your respect and thanks to all the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom, to our living service veterans, and to those who continue to serve in far-flung places around the planet to keep us safe and secure here at home.

Thanks!

Back home in the UK our equivalent day is Remembrance day held on the nearest Sunday to the eleventh day of the eleventh month and at the eleventh hour there is a two minute silence. Not held by everyone for sure but the BBC always cover the Queen laying a wreath of poppies on a memorial. Have a good memorial day.

Thank you for this reminder of what sacrifices have been made on our behalf. As I honor my son-in-law (career Marine), I also honor all the men and women past, present and future who so bravely serve our country.

You have my sympathy.

The American Legion near me has the VietNam Memorial Moving Wall this weekend. Very moving! Volunteers were reading the list of names from the wall. I went with my daughter, grandkids & 2 DAR women and we read 10 pages of names.

I wish I had known your brother's name. I would have looked for it on the wall for you.

We had a joint service this morning sponsored by the American Legion and VFW. It was very moving. The turnout was very heartwarming, also.

An important thing to remember on this day, especially. Thank you for a reminder, and Thank You to ALL service men and women and their families, (as the families 'serve' along with them) for all they do for us!
