There ya go!...fits mine to a T!
He has hearing aids, but still plays the tv LOUD! So I am about 7-8 feet from him....there is a little piece of wall, sticking out, past his chair, but other than that...I am right there...call to him, very loudly, change my pitch even...LOW, cause he claims the ear doctor told him, his hearing loss is in the range of a woman's voice  !...yeah right!
Then, when he finally mutes the tv, he YELLS at me...WHAT??? in an irritated tone...why is HE irritated???? I'm the one going hoarse....
neigh!!! neigh!!!

i think 'dime him out' mean the same as 'drop a dime on him'. meaning, call and tell on him. except that a call costs more than a dime today.
