...no, I am not hearing things!
I am sitting in my sewing room all comfy in my lazy boy rocker finishing up some paperwork for work, anxious to get done so I could have the rest of my evening free to sew, and the phone rings. It is my husband....he's up on the roof and wants to know if I would come out and pick up the ladder so he could get down    ROTFLMBO
He was cleaning the little maple spinner thingies out of the gutters, and apparently the ladder decided to take a trip!
What you don't know is that #1 he doesn't usually have his cell with him when doing yard work, and #2 we almost never get cell reception where we live. OH, my! It was all I could do to stop giggling so I could put the ladder back up!
Heaven only knows how long he would have been up there if he couldn't call...my room is on the other side of the house, the TV was on, the dishwasher was running and...well, let's just hope I would have surfaced from my quilting long enough to realize he was missing and go look for him. 8-)

Me also! Good heavens, I still might not have known anything had happened...I get so engrossed in my addiction. I guess he must have a guardian angle out there.

That's really not funny but I do have to smile.
Yes, what were the chances of no cell phone!
    Glad that all is well.

Yep, the chances of him having the cell were so slim.
I will let him know that you all are glad he is safe.

I'm very glad he's safe! DH fell off our roof, almost on top of me. Broke his femur. All is well now, but ladders and roofs - make me very nervous now! It's not necessarily the heighth of the fall, but what you land on.

My late DH always looked kinda foolish when climbing on a ladder, but he never fell. He always put on the bottom of the ladder 4 old tennis shoes and fixed the ladder legs in them firmly!!! Looked stupid, but they never slipped.

If this happens again and he can not reach you, tell him to strip down naked. I'm sure some assistance will arrive within moments. :-)
