First name. But since I'm named for my maternal grandma, and so is the first girl in all of my aunt/uncle's families, there are a lot of us at a family get together.
So , when we are in the midst of the larger family, we all get called by first and second name, sometimes followed by "from" our parents name.
So I'm Teresa Jane "from" Art and Nel whereas my cousin is
Teresa Lynn "from" Art and Renny (We HAD to end up with three uncle ART's in the mix too)

I go by my first name:Wilda, but I sign my name with first, maiden name, last name, the only people that call me by my first and middle name are the older cousins: Wilda Ruth.
I was going to be named after my father, Wilburn James but I was a girl so I got named Wilda. It is a unique name, there are not very many with this name around.

You are unique! I have never known a Wilda, but my late mother's name was Wilma. She was named after her mother, who was Wilhelmina (very Dutch). Grandmother went by Billie, which I always thought odd. My mother never liked her name either. The two of them named me Penelope, but when I am called that, I know it is someone who doesn't know me at all. All my friends and family know me as Penny. Grandmother said "you can't call a grown woman Penny", but she did until the day she died!
No one ever uses my middle name, Gwynne.

I was baptized Marie Marthe Genevieve Annette Alberte. I do insist on being called Marthe not Martha. In Quebec province, your maiden name is your legal name, you keep it even if you married. Kids can have both parents surname. My only problem is when they ask me my mother maiden name which is also Brault .The next sentence is always I ask you your mother maiden name.

I was born Edith Clara (old names - long ago - first name after my aunt, middle name after my grandmother. As I got older, I didn't like the name Edith, or for that matter, Clara. So I just signed everything Edie Clare except for certain legal papers, (marriage license, deed to our home, little stuff like that. If anyone calls me Edith, I just say Edie! I love the name Edie Clare. My husband calls me Ede. I love that too, but only he can call me that. It is a deep term of endearment. My uncle used to call my Aunt Ede and so with my husband it stuck. No one else calls me that! And that is how it is! A name is pretty darned important to a person and if one has to live with it, it better sit good with them, right? The little boy across the alley calls me Grandma Edie, my grandkids call me Grandma and our son calls me Mom. Three best names in the book! Edie

First Name. Because there were five girls before me and my Mum thought I would have to be a boy so I was being called (David) for her brother in Australia. Hence Vida which is the feminine of David. Have had a few problems with prouncing it but like all things you get used to it.

Both - the two names are actually my first name and not a middle name (??) I have no middle name at least that is what my mom told me.
