can i ask what it was? mine is onalee, my mom says her mom named her that and her dad couldnt pronounce it, so he told everyone it was shirley. thats the one they kept. i always liked having a different name. i actually use it without my last name since i never here "onalee who"?.
It is a Norwegian name - spelled Olda - but pronounced like Alda.. Got really tired of being called "old-a" and made fun of by kids named Jenny and John. Just had enough of feeling so different and decided to use my middle name which is Christine. Made the change at 12 and though I sometimes miss the novelty, I didn't pass family names on to my kids.

Wow. I didn't know there was another one with my name. Well, almost. I'm Maria Antoinette. :)

I go by Pat, but my real name is Janice Marie. People have known me for years and did not realize that my name is Janice.

First. My mom didn't give any of her four kids middle names. She said it would be good if we actually learned to spell our first name. HAHAHA! She didn't have much faith in us, did she?

I use my first name as it is my ONLY name. I am the youngest of 16 kids and none of us were given a middle name. I guess it was good, cause I'm sure my parents would have run out of name by the time I came along.( eight girls and eight boys)
