My dogs sleep in their cushy beds downstairs and when the snoring starts next to me, I head to the guest room....I MUST have a good night's sleep or I am the wicked witch of the west all day!

Can't blame a husband. I seem to go into such a deep sleep for about 3 or 4 hours, then I am wide awake. I can lay there and try to go back to sleep (never works), but I usually get up and knit while watching TV. If I get sleepy, I can always lay back down and go back to sleep. I love retirement!

My husband snores also. I have to sleep with ear plugs or I wouldn't sleep. I can't start thinking about quilting when I am trying to get to sleep or I won't go to sleep.

I don't mean to rub it in but if your retired it doesn't matter. I actually love the freedom of being able to sleep for three to four hours then get up and play. When I worked it was very different, I had a high pressure job and couldn't handle the stress when I was tired. I hope you all get to a place where insominia becomes fun!

NO, my husband sounds like a foghorn. He wanted to know WHY I can't sleep at night, well, after listening to a tape of his snoring, the answer was quite clear. HE"S STILL SNORING!!! :hunf:

Last week I attended a "What's in a Snore" seminar at our local hospital.

Green Bay Packer Reggie White died from sleep apnea.
It is a serious condition.

I am going to go through the sleep study myself for I too have sleep apnea.

To snore is okay, but to stop breathing is serious.

Maybe you can get him to see his doctor and get the ball rolling.

I can relate to the snoring husband. Most nights I sleep okay. On those nights when I can't sleep, I get up and watch t.v. or come here. The t.v. usually puts me to sleep. :D
