My son was in Iraq, and now he is in Korea. My SIL is now in Afghanistan, and was in a convoy, 3 vehicle out of four, and the fourth vehicle was blown up by a IED. All 3 soldiers in his unit died. My SIL is okay. My husband retired from the Army after 24 years. We live next to Fort Hood, where the Article 32 hearing of MAJ Hasan is being held. My husband now works for a civilian contractor at Fort Hood and was near the shooting of all those soldiers. He was not hurt, thank you God! I pray every day for all soldiers that are serving here and abroad.

My Nephew Ryan will be leaving the first week in Dec for his 2nd tour in Iraq. He was one of the soliders that parachuted into Iraq when it first started. was there for 13 months. than also went to Afghanstain for 12 months.
He was the 2009 non commision offericer of the year for The State of Florida. We are very proud of him. He's like our 3rd son.

My grandson just left for war zone, my son just came home this past February. He's had several 'trips' to the war zones. I have a nephew in the Navy that has been on the 'trips' and many many friends...

This gives a history, but we have documentation of service through almost all of the wars. I am trying to find out if we have a WWI realtive as I want to make a quilt reflecting service in our families.

Hi Tammy, my oldest son came home from Iraq last summer & my youngest son just finished boot camp at Parris Island. The star in your photo is beautiful! Did you design the star or is it from a pattern? I'd love to make one. Merry

My son is currently in Iraq for a year and was in Afghanistan for a year. He has a wife and two little girls here in Kansas, waiting for his return. He was injured in Afghanistan and received the Purple Heart. I am very proud of him and what he has had to go through. He's a lifer and has about 8 more years to go. Please keep him in your prayers. My husband, younger son and I were all in the Navy.
