That's too bad about the law. bummer.
I get high just looking at them! And the anticipation of having the vine grow all summer, waiting for the buds to appear, and then waiting for the buds to open.

Yes they are. When it gets cooler outside, they will open a little before sunset and stay open a little longer in the morning.

I'm glad someone mentioned their scent. My DH thinks I'm nuts because he can't smell it, but I know for sure they have a really nice scent.

We too have moon flowers popping up everywhere. Don't you just love getting the seeds from the prickly pods.

Beautiful. I used to have them but lost my start when we moved years ago. I bought some seed but they weren't the same. I remember the moths loved them.

When we bought our home 20 yrs ago, there were some planted. Something happened and they never came back. I have looked and looked for some of the prickly seed pods and cannot ever find any! We used to sit out at night & watch the lg moths flock to them. At first I thought it was Hummingbirds. LOL They are just stunning IMHO and I too loved the smell. Anyone have any seeds they would share?

I agree that this is a beautiful flower. My daughter had them at her last home and they were magnificent. Don't mean to be a "downer", but they are illegal to grow in Oklahoma and elsewhere. Some areas have issued tickets this year.
