I loved Julie and Julia! My friend and I laughed all the way through it! If anyone hasnt seen Its Complicated which is at the cinemas now then that is another good one.
Bridges of Madison County is another good one.
And if anyone hasnt seen Avatar at the movies in 3D then GO it is the best movie EVER!

Now that I have a list from all your great suggestions, I thought I'd add some I think of as heartwarming, feel-good movies. Naturally, I can't recall the ones I most liked... (no, it's not a senior moment. I've always been like this) but here goes.

    The Frisco Kid
    Cool Runnings
Inn of the Sixth Happiness (an oldie I saw for the first time recently)
    Pretty Woman
    Legally Blonde
    Something's Gotta Give
The Parent Trap (my all-time favorite kids' movie)
Point Break (okay, when he goes off to die it's sad, but it's on his terms and it's such an awesome movie)
My Dinner with Andre (okay, maybe not heartwarming or feel good, but intensely interesting with nothing bad in it)
    Godspell (not for religious reasons)

Color Purple, The Lake House, Frequency, The Abyss, Fried Green Tomatoes, Phanton of the Opera, Lord of the Rings, Fiddler on the Roof, Stargate, Waterworld, Dances with Wolves, Twister, (older version) Parent Trap. Lonesome Dove was too sad for me at the end, as was the Guardian.

if you want to get your mind onto something really funny, I love "To Wong Foo, Love Julie Newmar". I adored the late Patrick Swayze and if you can imagine that hunk of a man dressed up like a girl...he is so funny! Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo are in it too.

I just watched Fried Green Tomatoes today while cleaning and quilting - it was on TV. Good movie!

Can't remember if anyone mentioned it or not but
"Green Mile" is good. My son took me to the theater to see that when it came out. It was part of his Christmas gift to me that year. A special time with just the two of us! I've seen the movie now about 4 times!

Another one I've watched often been to a few versions of the play and own the DVD AND wore out two cassettes of the music (yes, cassette) , is A Chorus Line.
