First scary movie I saw was in third grad3—The Blob.
Other movies—The Birds and Nightmare on Elm Street.
Scary books —Amityville Horror and In Cold Blood.

I don't think there was an episode of The Outer Limits that didn't scare me as a child. I have no idea why my parents let me watch it. Pet Sematery really creeped me out because I happened to be reading it at 2AM all alone in the house...the part where the cat starts coming back?......my cat jumped on my bed. And the next I can think of is also a Stephen King creation, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I can't read that alone in the house at night.

Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King! They will scare me every time!
A book that spooked me was Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. It was very good though.
Stephen King's more recent books aren't so much horror. I've read some really good ones.

Psycho, Silence of the Lambs and as a kid I saw one about a man that killed people and put them in a wax museum. I was about 8 years old and it was on at the Saturday morning " Kiddie Show".

Bambi, terrified of being lost in the woods calling out for mom, but she's dead and won't answer.
The Birds, they might peck my eyes out.
Jaws, there are things in that water that might eat you.

After Jaws, I quit watching scary movies. Though there have been a few scary books that have snuck in by surprise but that is another story link.

Pscho-----The build up of suspense was too much....couldn't watch the end of the movie...wonder if I watched it now, could I see the end. Wax museum with Vincent Price..one of the original 3 D movies...I was a kid so not sure if it was actually the movie or the sensation of the three dimension that was scary.....golly, that's been a 100 yrs ago - seems like.......

Jaws did it for me. I was in my 20’s and got up to go to the toilet and was scared a shark would jump out. This is So Not Me.
