Thumbs up My friend got her drivers license!

I posted a picture of a Card Trick quilt for my widowed friend in January. She never wanted to learn to drive, even though her husband tried to get her to. She began taking driving lessons last spring about a month after her husband died. She has a granddaughter she wants to take places, and knew she needed a drivers license. She called yesterday and she had just left the the license branch with her license! She is so excited about it, and I am so happy for her.

That's great. I can't imagine not driving but I know people up north often don't
have a need. They just use taxis or public transport.

Houston is a VERY daunting place to learn how to drive. Very understandable why you took the bus everywhere. When I first moved to Houston I was scared to death to drive on those freeways.

Great news!! After DH had a stroke I learned how to drive a stick shift at age 50 and wondered why I hadn't done it years earlier. Never too old to learn!!

Good for her. She should have done that years ago. She missed a lot.
