Reminds me of when my grandfather was widowed at age 80. He suddenly viewed himself as being available for some lucky woman and joined Eastern Star. Both he and my grandmother's sister's widowed husband, also in his 80's, almost got into a fist fight over my grandmother's brother's widow, who really didn't want either one of them!
When I worked at social security my favorite people to talk to were the old men, and did they like to talk! They also took the deaths of their spouses much harder than did the women. I think they're the loneliest people in the world.
