Default My projects (2 months worth) photo heavy

I have been busy lately! Between life's lovely emergencies, reality making rearing it's ugly head.
These projects took me about 2 months to do. All the patterns are listed below.

Nana (me) got a rather upsetting call awhile back from Miss Bella, her purse broke. Well being a loving Nana I got busy
and made her one. Then I thought Raiden needs one to carry her super secret diary and her current reading book.
Then it struck me like a lightening bolt...plus an email from Sewthankful.com...lol Why not Dragon costumes! And
a couple of Fox stoles for when they play dress up. I don't remember how I found the pencil case pattern. They are to cute to pass up making. I added a pilot fish and used some letter beads with their names on them.

By time we added some art supplies and a gift for Stacey that dang box weighed 19 lbs! LOL

All for Miss Bella and Miss Raiden, and something for their Mom.

First off...
Dragon costumes (pink for Raiden, purple for Bella)
Second...
Shark pencil cases ( flames for our daughter Stacey, pink for Raiden, purple for Bella)
Third.....
Fox stoles
Fourth...
Purses (Bella's is the green one and Raiden gets the embroidered denim bag)

And we must not forget my model. He was made by my Mom about 13 yrs ago. And he stands in the corner for a time out.
I tell everyone he is a mixture of all our kids. Who at one time or another stood in the corner.

It's amazing how one idea leads to another and a busy person has loads of inspiration. Love the pencil cases and hours of fun playing with the dragons. Not sure how PC the foxes are( fox hunting is banned in UK) but I do like them

Hi Dotty,

Thanks, the foxes are fleece foxes. Even PETA can't object to that.
The dragons were supposed to have fabrics like tule, lame, sequin fabric you know all those shiny apparel
fabrics. I thought it would be easier for my daughter if she could wash them and not worry about then unraveling
and falling apart. So I used 100% cotton along with fleece and some flannel.

Fabulous work, there will be squeals of delight when they open the box! And I appreciate the links, I want to try the pencil case pattern.

Love how everything turned out! I downloaded the pattern for the shark. Was it difficult to make? Do you have any pointers? Thanks for sharing!

It wasn't difficult at all. Just make the shark body and lining a 1/4" bigger than the pattern. This makes it easier to get the zipper in. I also found using a zipper with smaller teeth was a bit more forgiving around the corners. Next time I make one I am going to try a polyester zipper. The when cutting out the lining, the tail is cut off. And I would suggest a little bit larger patchwork pieces. I used small ones because the fabrics were leftovers from other work. You know.....waste no fabric!

I would love to see your shark(s) when your done.
