If you're going to start reading the Dean Koontz books with Jane Hawk, please start with the first book "Silent Corner". That one sets up the storyline. Thanks for the other suggestions! I have some others to check out.

One of my favorite is Lee Child. His hero is Jack Reacher. I also like Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher (on PBS) but she wrote 17 books about Phryne. They take place in Australia around 1929. I too like David Baldacci. Especially his last two whose hero was a football player who had a serious head injury that has left him with an ability to recall almost everything.

I just read Fern Michaels' first book in her Sisterhood Series. Hard to describe. These are women brought together by tragedies in their lives in which the culprit did not pay - kind of a Star Chamber type thing? The characters are an interesting bunch. I will definitely keep going on this series, if only to find out what creative ways they have to deal with each issue. Kind of far fetched, but it keeps you interested.

Well, you could also read one of our Alaskan mystery writers. Sue Henry is a delight. Her main characters are very strong women, very human. Dana Stabenow is another good one. Has anyone mentioned Lisa Scottoline? I'd better get off this thread!!
