I hate to say this, but when the site wasn't working today I was hoping that they were changing it back. Nope I was wrong, it's still the "New" version.

I read the rules for general, but I couldn't ask for advice.

What background? I don't have a quilt like pattern. Where are you seeing this and what does it look like? Got a pic?

Three days ago there were were 545 PAGES of things we didn't like about the new QB forum!! Today there are 637!!! I have a feeling that no one has read all the entries before listing their pet peeve - including me. Who has time to read all the entries on that many PAGES?? But I did read 9 pages and didn't come across a single complaint about the Chat room. I have mine: You can no longer tell who is newly come into the room, as the User List at the bottom is alphabetical, not time-wise. Also, not all the names always list in the
User list. Often when the Users are in the room (somewhere between 10 & 12) the list freezes & stays that way for several hours. If you don't know to refresh your screen if your name doesn't come onto the list, your name will be chatting, but not listed as a User. That is very confusing & frustrating. In addition, the User List sometimes doesn't clear names at the end of the 10 minute time limit, so that new Users coming in think that these Users are still in the chat room, not realizing that they (the new Users) need to hit their reset button to clear the old Users from the room. Finally, I really miss the Private Room feature of the chat room. That's a big loss. Seeing as how I'm on page 367, I doubt that Patrice or anyone else of importance will ever read this and/or do anything about any of it, but it feels good to have put my two cents worth in. P.S. If anyone figures out how to get our fancy signatures to work again, please send me a PM. I'd really appreciate it!!! Thanks ever so much!!!

This says something wrong, but I am going the other direction... I at first hated it, couldn't find anything, and I felt that it was a selective board. I have since changed my mind and have to commend the person that made it, its just as easy if not easier to use once you start using it as the old one was. In fact have to say its easier. I love this board and the reason I do is because its easy to use and has all this talent on it. I get inspiration and love to see all that everyone that has done. So whoever remade this board, please except my apoligies for being a grump, and to Thank you so much for doing it. I know I don't appreciate change, but I bow to your talent.

First of all, I have to say that the new format does not bother me at all. It is much like other forums I have been to, so it was not a difficult transition at all for me. After giving it time, I would have to say that the thing I miss most is the "unread" topics option. On here, I now use "what's new" but it's not the same and I probably miss a lot of posts that I would otherwise enjoy seeing. Sometimes I do just go to a particular category, like pictures, and view from there. Or go directly to tutorials if I want to see what's new particular to that category. All in all, I applaud the moderators for reacting quickly to concerns and doing everything in their power to improve the board. It's hard work and they have taken a lot of criticism and I think many of us would just throw up our hands and quit. I come here for the people and the inspiration and the incredible support of other quilters. That hasn't changed, so I'm here to enjoy! Happy sewing everyone!
