Default Need help identifying fabric...

I acquired a large amount of material this weekend and I have no idea what this fabric would be used for. It reminds me of the fabric that basketball shorts are made of. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

My first thoughts were of flags and placemats or tablerunners-- maybe something fun for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day?

I'm sorry! I didn't ask very clearly! I'm thinking about selling this material, but I don't know it's original use. However, you have very good suggestions. I think I'll make a few pairs of basketball shorts for my daughter, but I must have 60 or more yards and all different colors and patterns. I don't think I could even make a dent in it.

How about making sewing/quilting totes with it? If you need to find out the content of the fabric check with your LQS. Looks like it might be a decorator fabric. How wide is it?

You could do a burn test to determine if it is cotton or polyester, at least. Put a small piece of it in a saucer and light it with a match. If it burns and leave ashes, it is cotton. If another just melts and bubbles, it is a polyester or man-made fabric.

Could be made into rag rugs if it is cotton or polyesther.
