We purchaed some plastic ornaments, for outdoor use, many years ago at Home Depot. They are clear with holly, poinsettia, etc. inside. Have had them for years and if they get knocked off or tumbled around it is no problem. They are good for toddlers who like to touch and I'd think that kitties would do the no harm as well. Also have some wood ones that I got at Michael's and painted, they are cute and pretty indestructible. Hope this helps.

Do you have a dollar store in your area? Mine has tons and tons of really pretty non breakable ornaments and miscellaneous decorations. Also, we have a fake tree at work and instead of using decorations, I put fake pointsettias and other Christmasy looking fake flora and fauna in it. Makes a really pretty tree so you might consider that.
