Need Info about staying in Las Vegas
One of our grandkids will be getting married at Ceasar's and we're trying to make plans for our stay in Vegas. We've never been to Vegas before so I'm wondering if any members live there or visit often enough to give us some advice.
I have advanced arthritis in my knee and can't walk too far but didn't think it would be a problem until found out that to reach our rooms I'd have to walk all the way through the casino to reach the lobby and the elevators. Also Ceasar's is so big that to cut down on the amount of walking I would need to request rooms near the elevators. Ceremony and reception are at Ceasar's but we will need to take a cab from the ceremony to reach the reception. We are planning on staying for a few days and this seems like a lot of walking just to get out of the place let alone to attend the wedding. I'm thinking we might be better off staying away from The Strip and making reservations at a regular motel. I'd welcome any advice.

There is a lot of walking in Las Vegas no matter what you are attempting to do. There might be electric carts available at the hotels - I don't know maybe you could contact the hotel and ask. The hotels and attractions are so large - it is a tough place for folks that can't walk any kind of distances. Good luck.

While most of the modern hotels in LV are handicapped accessible, the hotels (including Ceasars) are so big and far apart in LV that if you're not up to walking long distances, you would be advised to bring or rent a scooter or wheelchair.
Here's a place that will rent you one and deliver it to your hotel. I'm sure there are others:

I live in LV. QKOs advise is right on. Stay close to where everything is happening if possible, so you can enjoy festivities, Also There are always lots of cabs available.
We also have a company that takes people to quilt shops, your own personal shophop.
Come and enjoy our wonderful, crazy city. There are also lots of tour companies that take people to Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon and other scenic attractions. City Buses very reliable. All hotels have handicap accomodations.
Regarding our airport, whish is huge, make arrangements ahead of time for a wheel chair. There are people who only push wheelchairs thru the airport.
Good Luck & enjoy your stay.
I hope this helped.

May, my dh and I visit Las Vegas several times a year. We have found that the Monte Carlo is our favorite place to stay. Not as large as some of the other casinos. The elevators are close to the check in desk and you can request a room close to the elevators so you don't have to walk so far to room (but I have found that it is nosier close to elevators, just a personal observation). I also agree with renting a scooter. My dh and I walk everywhere on the strip and you do get tired, extremely tired, but we have a great time. A great city to visit. I hope that you can get the details worked out and can enjoy your trip. The only place we have stayed off the the strip was at The Palace Station ( back in 1997), so can't help you with places off the strip. Congratulations to the grandchild getting married! btw - our oldest son got married at the Monte Carlo, in 2005.

Please check on a getting a scooter. You really can't stay anywhere without walking quite a bit.

There is also that tram that is fun to ride - but I think it would be wise to rent a scooter or cart - because you walk everywhere in Vegas - Its a lot of fun and so much to see and do - Have fun.
