Wow, that is a beautiful entertainment center!! (or whatever we're calling it nowadays) Your carpenter did great!
The cabinet in the first picture looks EXACTLY like the one my parents had when I was growing up. Kind of a trip.
Do they still sell DVDs nowadays?

I was told the cd will start to deteriorate data over time. I have found many out of print dvds at thrift stores, some still in plastic wrap. I bought online storage to download our hard to find ones.

Quiltah Mama, yes, I just sit there and stare at it from time to time. Today I'll finally start to load the DVDs in starting from "Z" and going backwards to see how far it takes me upward. I found a folding ladder that fits alongside my fridge so I won't have to order the library ladder and save myself a bunch of money.

Sewbizgirl, yes, I'd say he is very talented for as young as he is, maybe in his early 30's. He has done a lot of custom made cabinets all over town from what I've been told by others. His father did my double wide driveway last Fall and that's how I got his name. The whole family of brothers and sons are in some sort of building, construction, concrete and landscaping.

Onebygone, I agree they don't last forever and I have found some at our local thrift shop. Will check with Ebay for the 2 DVDs that won't play for me any longer. I have one VHS that has never been made into a DVD called 1,000 Heros about the airplane crash up near the 4 corners of Iowa,NE, SD and MI where the folks on the plane started coming out of the corn fields. Charleston Heston played the pilot. James Coburn and a couple other main actors were in the movie. I still have a combo VHS/DVD player just for that reason.

Someone told me just yesterday that VHS are coming back now. Go FIgure!
