I LOVE my Dyson and hate to vacuum, so that means before the dyson I would go through a vacuum a year because the pet hair would do such a job on the motor. I have had the Dyson for 4 yrs now and it is still working great, and I live by a beach and get lots of sand too.

I love my Dyson too.

I *hated* my Dirt Devil, it never picked anything up.

I SO EXCITED EVERYONE HAS DYSON. DYSON DYSON DYSON for me ALL the way. ull want the animal or higher since it will have the hose & head thats flexable. i use the carpet setting everywhere in my house & its mostly hardfloor with a few wool rugs scattered about. I have had MANY expensive machines dyson is the 1, no bags, ANY clog can be gotten to (as THIS is my personal fav part =0)) NO belts, virtually cost free after purchase. I had the oreck it was fine but was NEVER happy with the bag changes EXPENSIVE & FILTHY & mostly because there was no hose attachment. Oh yes every detacable part can be washed by hand. its europen design & they r & have been way more eco minded then in the us. I will never choose another vaccum again DYSON ROCKS!

DYSON--I have had the Dyson Animal vacuum for approximately four years. I have 3 Labs, 1 Pug, and 1 cat. Ditto all of the above reasons. Love it on my new linoleum floors ... sometimes I forget to take it off "carpet" mode.

I have a Miele, Riccar and a Dyson. Much prefer the Miele but I do not have carpet.

I have a lightweight DYSON. I will get another one when this one dies. The suction is fantastic and all the tools are with you, and no dragging the canister around corners and furniture.

I am a huge fan of Dyson....We have had the same one for years...no loss of suction, deals with pet hair, we have hard floors and rugs and a couple of rooms with carpet. Even when I broke it (I fell over it) I got replacement parts very easily by phone/mail-order. No bags either and very easy to maintain.

So glad that you brought up this topic. I have an Oreck and need to replace another vacuum with another Oreck. My husband wants a Hoover that is bagless and has a retractable cord. Does anyone have a Hoover Wind Tunnel? Hope you can help me get another Oreck.

I bought a Dyson recently and I am very pleased with it. It picks up what the other one seemed to leave behind or struggle with. Also, no bags to replace and two fully washable filters.I got the small upright one, as I have limited storage space, and it pushes down into a very compact space.
