My aunt lives in his town and would get the latest title signed by him for my grandmother--who lived by me. Gram read them, then I donoted them to the local library--where the librarian took them home to her mother--a NS fan. :D

The library here is open when/if the a/c is working. It takes me about 40 min to get there and I only go into town about once a week.
The library here also does not get the new books that just come out. If they do it's because someone has bought the book, read it and then is done with it and donates it.

If you get the books on tape you can quilt while you listen! I think all of the Nicholas Sparks books are on tape - I've listened to them all - and James Patterson too. Our library recently discarded all of the tapes and has gone to CDs They are a real pain in the prat! And, no, the tapes are not distracting when you're quilting - things actually seem to go more smoothly when you listen as you quilt.
