10-09-2023Reminds me of a time in San Diego - I was sitting at Woolworth's lunch counter. They had beets on the menu. I overheard another person ask the waitress what beets were made of -- she said "turnips I guess". I nearly fell off my stool!!!!

It is frightening that these people will eventually be in charge of our country! It's a shame to think that the education system has been oversimplified to accommodate teaching to the test rather than giving our kids an education.

I was in Sams yesterday and asked a young man if they had cornmeal...he took me over to an isle and handed me cornstarch.....I said, no cornmeal. He said what is that? I said, You know, the stuff chips and tacos are made of...thinking that would click.....Oh yeah! I wonder why we don't have that. BTW Sam's does not carry cornmeal, powdered onion, or tonic water..all items I was looking for. The Tonic water through this kid for a loop as well.

Reminds me of some of those 'supposed to be' simple questions that Jay Leno asks people on the street. Sure shows a lot of lack of knowledge in different areas of Bible, history, politics and etc. Makes you wonder about the school systems and home environments.
