How true and she probably didn't think to ask someone either. The youth of today, our leaders of tomorrow. Scary isn't it.

I have seen corn meal in the SAMS in KC. It was with the Mexican shells etc. Well at least it was in the food department. I was there yesterday and could not find a person who worked for the store. All I could find was people giving out samples and they did not know where anything but what they were sampling was located. Oh,well what do we want from a Wal Mart which Sams is.

When I was in school to become a teacher, my prof once said that if we teach the women (in more modern terms we would probably say the childcare giver) to read or do math (etc.), we will also be teaching all her/his children to read/do math/etc.

In short, I think there is a responsibility to instill learning in our youth early and to instill the desire to share that which was learned. There is a huge gap shown in this thread that is eventually going to hurt the individuals and the future of the good old USA.

I wonder what he would have said if you asked for tonic. That is what I called Coke or Pepsi when I was growing up.

I'd like to know what store! We have no LQS here, just Joanns and a couple of other fabric stores but they sell all kinds of fabric.

I went in a store some time ago and asked where the velvets were. The early 20s clerk thought and thought, and said she'd never heard of any of that kind, what did it look like. Another lady my age and I carefully explained that it was an expensive fabric that felt like it was made of colored fur. That rang a bell so she took us both to the velvet section...made us wonder about clerks in stores. Knowledge is power!!!!
