Not about quilting, but have a question
I was wondering if any of you have ever used Aunt Martha 100% cotton floursack dishtowels before and if they are absorbent? They look great quality, but is the thread count to high for them to be used for drying dishes? Thanx for any help.

i love these! i use them for towels- i use them for embroidered gifts (my mother & aunt love them as gifts & to use in their kitchens) i use them for baking ( placing over dough ect---no lint/fuzzies)
and i use them for quilting! they are a very good deal- and hard to find other places.

Only towel I will embroider on, and I do a lot of towel embroidering. Tried several, and these are the best!! Absolute greatest absorbancy. These wash up perfectly and last a long time. Hobby Lobby or Hancocks with coupon, paid less than $2.00 each. Give a lot of them as gifts every Christmas, and everyone raves about them.

I have some that I've had for many years and they still dry dishes very well. I embroidered them almost 40 years ago and put them away. I found them when I moved into my previous house 20 years ago ... and those are the ones I'm still using. I would say they are one of the best buys I ever made.

I embroidered 4 of them to put into my cedar chest while still in highschool. I graduated in "57", married in "58". Brought them out in "72" and hemmed them on my "new" sewing machine. They are still great, except my DH uses them to lay on our bread when he brings that out of the oven. Hmmm! They have gotten discolored.
