Three a day makes the regular stats stay. If there is nothing you want to comment on, click on Introduce Yourself on the home tab and welcome a newbie. Hope this helps

When I joined, I thought I only needed 20 entries to become a regular and I kept watching for the change. It didn't happen until I had written 48. I knew I had made the big time then. I love this board. It is the first and only one I have joined. I feel so welcome and love all of the kindness and humor I find here.

being "A Regular Here" only matters if you want to sell in the classified section.

under any other circumstances, the member who normally lurks but posts only once in a while is as beloved as the one who posts 80 bazillion times a day. we just don't get as much of a chance to know you. ;-)

now, let's think about something.

if the only reason somebody pumps up their numbers with "welcome to the board", or similar posts, is to maintain eligibility to sell, are they really a regular, fully participating member?

each member is free to decide for themselves whether or not the answer to that question matters.

it just happens to matter to me. it's something i check before buying.

I do agree mostly with that. Also think it is important to do the welcome thing but have to admit I don't do it often. Some of my posts are short because that's all I either care or need to say to make the point. My degree is in journalism and we are taught to write to the point. I also try to not post simply to "up" the number, only if I really have something to say. A lot of times I won't have anything of value to add because I am not as experienced or talented as many here. I have been quilting for many years, but mostly randomly. I so appreciate all the valuable info I get from folks here. Sometimes it just so happens I decide to sell some of my huge stash (mainly when my husband complains about it.) Even though my actual quilting has been random, my fabric collecting has continued at full speed ahead. At those times I am grateful that so many people here don't waste time counting my posts and just buy because they see the value in what I am selling. We all win. :D

That's what goofed me up last month.
Try going through and posting 20 quick replies tonight, then check your status in the morning.
Yeah, I am aware of that. I wasn't counting the pm or classified posts. I wonder if my "regular" status just had a glitch yesterday. Could happen I guess. Anyway, it's back! Math was never one of my talents; maybe my finger and toe counting was off.
