Our daughter and her husband were here for 18 days (left yesterday to go home!) They live in Haiti - as missionaries - and were here for a break for the first time since the earthquake. They settled on a midwife to deliver the baby in December. The midwife was able to do a sonogram while they were here - Kari Isabel will be joining us around December 20!!! They will return in mid-November to wait the homebirth of Kari!! (Pronounced Car-ee - it's Norwegian - His mom is Norwegian!)

Happy for you! Beautiful name.
Years ago lab I worked at had a visiting scientist from Norway named Kari. What I remember most about her I learned from a friend, Linda, also a visiting from Chicago, who shared a house with her for 3 months and thus hung out when not working. Linda told stories about how they'd be out hiking and if Kari became too warm, she'd just whip off her top and jeans and hike in her panties. When Linda told her she couldn't do that in a public and could be arrested, Kari just couldn't understand why not. Evidently Norwegians have an entirely different attitude than Midwesterners when it comes to wearing clothes. lol
