Pam, I have a grandson in that area who manages a Tea Shop for his parents. His new wife is from China and they travel in a international crowd. The wedding was very multicultural - Venezuela, Nigeria, China, USA, - all in the wedding party. That's my walking destination from last month.

Lynne, the bargello is beautiful. The colors, the piecing, everything. Will you quilt it yourself? We've had minor freezes, but it was in the high 70s today and will be warmer this weekend. I haven't lost many flowers yet.

Lynn, I love your quilt! The borders are just perfect, they really frame it well.

These two quilts are beautiful. Wow!

I have really wanted to make a Carpenter's Star as Carpenter is our last name. I want a bargello also. Why don't you both just send them my way?

I made a wall hanging today for my front door. It is a scarecrow (I think maybe a Debbie Mumm pattern that says Welcome harvest). My learning curve was to quilt the curves in the pumpkins on my machine.

Food hint for the day: Vary your textures in your foods. Don't stick with just mushy, or smooth, etc. Add crunchy and sweet and salty in the same dish. It will be much more satisfying for your appetite.

Irish your quilt is very stunning! nice job!

Jeri I am looking forward to seeing some of the new recipes. Please share some with us.

By the way I was wondering what everyones favorite salad dressing is? I love salad but unfortuniately ranch is my favorite dressing and even the light adds up calorie wise pretty fast so I was courious what everyone enjoys on thier salads.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sandy. If anyone would like to send her a card I have her addy I am not sure if it is ok to give it out though. MJ what are your thoughts on this?

I am on my 3rd 24oz glass of lemon water. yipee! :XD:
I use light sour cream for my dressing. I don't do dressing. I use to use the ff but ate so much of it can't think about ff now. Also, I don't eat miricle whip or mayo.

My favorite dressing is Kraft light balsamic vinaigrette. It has 30 calories for 2 Tbsp and 1 g of fat. It has so much good flavor that it doesn't take much.

Hello Ladies,22 pages already, wow! That's good.I did good today on my eating.Plus I got up on the roof and worked on the big tree branch again.I cut some in only 2 ft chunks, and it was so heavy,I had to tie a rope around it to get it up out of the hole it fell into. But it was 10 inches across,if not more,so hubby said to cut them smaller cause we couldn't even lift it.It's a huge LOG that is a branch that broke and split right at the tree where the branch attaches to it.Hubby is 84 and has maculardegeneration and can't see to use the chain saw,so I get to do it.Yippi!Anyway,we got it.Well I'm doing good on my scedual so should be at a 5 pound loss by next monday.Hopefully.I want to be down to 150 by the end of this month. And I know I can do it,I just have to do it.I'm drinking lots of water and a meal shake 2 X a day. They really do fill me up and keep me from getting hungry.I got some slim fast ones at the discount store. They even taste good.Yrs ago they were crappy tasting. But now they are good. And only 190 calories. So good work ladies, your all doing great.Keep up the good work.MJ,I'm going to make the soaps tonight. Will let you know tomorrow how they did.I did see on utube where I got the recipe that she said it cleans good and uses it all the time. But is low sudsing.I think it should work great for an alternative to keep on hand.I got a 10 pk of the ivory at walmart for $4.97.So,I can whip up a batch when we run out, like now.At least I can make a bottle full of shampoo,dish-soap,and hand soap when we're out. There is lots of recipe's of utube for all 3 home-made soaps.

Xylie,
I watched those videos too. One person said that the dish soap was hard to get off the dishes. I like the rest of the comments they made, though. I really, really want to hear your opinion.

I saw a different one that uses a "cleansing" soap made by Colgate. Same process but different base soap.

I am losing, I've lost a pound!! I will meet Irish's challenge this month. Yippee!

Hey guys! I need to apologize to the group. I have not been as supportive as I have been in the past. I have not gotten any email from here in many days. So, I changed my email address and hopefully that will do the trick.

I am a shrinking woman! I have been walking a mile a day in the swimming pool. My clothes, jackets, even shoes are falling off of me. Thank goodness I ordered 8 new shirts this last week!

I have to say that the day I finially realized what was shrinking on my body totally shocked me. For example, I started out this journey wearing a 58GG bra then down to a 54GG. My mom told me last week that I needed to get a new bra. I was nervous because I HATE going to try on clothes knowing they won't fit and that embarrasses and upsets me, so I just don't do it. Well I did try on some bras and ended up with a 44 (sports bra). That is literally HUGE for me! I have not been that size in more than 20 years! Wowzers!

Everything else is going okay. I am stil in pain since the car accident. That will pass I am sure.

I feel like I am rambling...LOL! So, I will end this and hope all is well with everyone!!

Missy
