Yes I made one, like they wore on Little House on the Prairie. A lady I worked with asked me if I would make one for her elderly mother in Law. She loved to work outside in her gardens. I made her one from calico and she just loved it. When she had to go to a Nursing Home they told me she took it with her and tied it to her bed.

*** Yes, I have made them.
*** Many years ago we had "Old Timey Days" at our church and
*** I made matching outfits for me and my daughter.
*** My Grandmother always wore them.
*** I have one now and a hand cut pattern she gave me.

Boy, you had me looking. many years ago my husband's Mother in Law gave me a brown paper pattern for one of those bonnets with the section you could add to protect the back of your neck from the sun. I never made one and evidently gave it away not too long ago on one of my cleaning frenzies.
