oh my, I think all of mine came from antique stores or flea mkts...I would not know if patterns still exist- but it might be fun to go on safari for instructions. If I find any, I will post here.

Well you got me all in a tingle. I have a pin cushion that looks like yours, but it is in pinks. I thought wow, I didn't know it done that, well mine doesn't open up. But it feels like a thimble in the top of the hat. I got mine in an old machine and cabinet we bought. I put it with other old sewing stuff on display. I still love it!

I think I've made some of those a hundred years ago... Maybe if I get out a hook and some thread, I could still make one? May have to give that a try later on tonight. Cute, aren't they.. I love these old things.
