One year today!

Just got an e-mail that our LQS is closing due to owner wanted to concentrate on her pattern publishing business instead and I just wrote on this board a short time ago that it was doing great!!! My husband said to get over there to get what I wanted at 50% off. I have hesitated to add to my small stash but I guess this is the best time. I am so sad as this shop is only 5 miles away and the next nearest one is over 20 miles away and I'm not a fan of either Walmart or most of JoAnn's fabric. As long as I can serve others with fabric, I'll go and load up, with mostly military fabric for the troops.

As my stash gets smaller, my scrap pile gets bigger. I have made one quilt using sevages and several with my stash, but I can't stop buying fabric. I am trying to limit myself to $50 per month, but it is hard.

You are my hero! I've mainly bought from this board & Craigslist. The $$ haven't been much, nowhere near what I used to spend. My goal this year is to have much less fabric on hand in December than I did in January.

I did have to buy a 1/2 yd to finish a quilt but since I used it all up immediately I don't count it.
I've donated 1/3 of my stash to a church group, and I've used up some yardage on my own during the year. I figure it'll be another 2 years before my stash is gone. Never again! I'll buy as needed only.
