Default Out of the Blue !

We were finishing super last night when an excited flock of sparrows "went to ground" in our yard, immediately followed by this guy who sat on our railing for a good 15 minutes waiting for something to move! We figure it was a juvenile Cooper's hawk of a Goshawk. The picture is a bit grainy as I took it through the screen.

I would "go to ground" and not move a muscle, if those eyes were near me!

Pretty cool photo! I love watching the birds. Hey, maybe you could make a quilt out of that photo?

What a fantastic picture. We have hawks in our yard all the time. We had a pair come to our bird bath & bird feeding station a couple of years ago. They stayed for about 45 minutes & we enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for sharing this.

Those sparrows were smart! The hawk is a beauty. You must have a good camera...we have a hawk, but I wouldn't be able to get a photo as good as yours.
