Out of the mouth of a baby
My DGD (age 6-1/2) gets bent out of shape when I ask her to be quiet too. So now I say 'give grandma's ears a rest please'.

smallest granddaughter was telling me something and her big sister walked in and began talking to me and I got distracted and answered. Wee one put her hands on her hips and says to both of us, "Can "I" talk? "
