I never thought you would shoot in your backyard, only that if they were that plentiful then the hunting around your area must be great. I imagine they get into your gardens into the summer also. I'm glad your husband doesn't hunt your deer, but do you know how large the territory is that your deer range over? I looked it up in Google and found that White Tail deer usually ranged over 1-2 square miles but have been known to travel up to 12 miles. It must be hard to be sure not to shoot your own deer.

Hey, MC--Try stringing old vcr tapes around your garden perimeter and criss-cross the garden through the center. The tapes will "hum" and according to Mother Earth News, the noise bothers them and they will not cross the tape. Good luck. We, too have deer in our area but the dogs next door keep them at bay,

If I had that view I would get nothing done, I would set and look out the window all day. We never get snow bur even tho we live in town we still get the deer. With it so dry their food source is gone and they come into the yards and eat all our plants. My rose bushes are ones they like best.
