Is the glazing medium called glazing medium when you go to buy it at the store? Or do you have a articular brand that you like?

Also, exactly why do we using glazing medium?

Sorry to take so long. have had cataract surgery. The products I use are by Decoart Americana and can be bought at joann's or hobby lobby. Glazing medium is clear like a varnish. A small part of paint is added to an amount of the glazing medium to make the paint transparent. For instance. I brushed this mix over the red cabinet and then took my faux tool and made the designs that you see (black). The tool wipes out the black mix and leaves a design that you create with the tool, leaving the red to show through. Check out utube and see a demo.
