Default pet food recall

I just received this in my yahoo news feed..... http://www.seattletimes.com/life/pet...contamination/ I'm not surprise I think that same brand was recalled once before.

Thanks for posting. I never heard of that brand before. I don't understand someone that will buy a brand of pet food that isn't the best quality in the first place. It's the only food your pets get so give them the best.

Don't assume that these are not high quality foods just because you haven't heard of the brand, or that "top" familiar brands are the best food for your pet. The foods that were recalled consist of raw meats, which is why there was a possibility of salmonella contamination. (Salmonella is very unlikely to affect the dog, but is more likely to affect the human who handles the meat when feeding the dog). Many people believe that feeding raw meat is better for dogs than feeding kibble, which is much higher in carbohydrates (and lower in protein and fat) than the dog's digestive system can handle. I found the following article interesting - http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/best-d.../raw-dog-food/. Note that Bravo and Nature's Variety are both on the list.

I never heard of this brand before. I don't think we get it in Michigan or at least I haven't seen it. It might be the new kind you see at the super markets now in the coolers though come to think about it.

I have been feeding my dog Flint River Ranch products for the last 8 years. They have very high quality food and have never had a recall. I feed my 34 pound dog 1 cup a day so a 20 pound bag last over 6 weeks. It is delivered to my door (big bonus!!) and the shipping is included in the price. They have cat food and dog food and you can get samples if you aren't sure how your pet will react to it. I swear by it.

I might be a local pet food sold in the northwestern region. When I had my dogs, I just make sure of the ingredients and it wasn't imported from China.

I make all my own dog food and have for many years...You just don't know what you are feeding your dog unless you make it....
