We had two dogs that licked excessively. Turns out one was allergic to a plant that grew all over our yard, and his feet itched and drove him nuts. The other dog had arthritis in some joints, and the licking was both massaging and warming, but boy, did it make for some soggy spots on the rugs.

It's a pet thing. Just one of the things they do to drive their owner's crazy 😊 (My dog confessed).

My sister used to have a cat that sucked people's armpits. Every time I visited them, I would go home soggy.

Unfortunately, it picked up a virus from an armpit, and developed a neurological disease and died. Otherwise, yes, it would be a funny story.

Oh, my , that's terrible!! I would never have thought a cat could get a disease from a human. Vice-versa, yes. I giggled before I read your reply, because a cat licking strangers' armpits is a funny sight, like something you'd see in a sitcom.

My dog also has licked his paw till there's a bald spot. Vet says it's anxiety. I try to buy bacon-y chews for him to gnaw on.
