Pillowcover
My daughter has a small pillow that she puts on top of her regular pillow. She's been using it for years. Every week or so, I throw it in the washing machine. This makes the stuffing all lumpy, so I have to open up the end and replace the stuffing. I go through a lot of stuffing. Is there a better way of doing this? Is there a type of fabric that I can make a pillowcase out of, that helps protects it? I know they make pillow covers for regular sized pillows, but this one is only about 6" x 10".

How about making a simple removable pillow cover for it. Here's the site with the instructions. For a 10"x6" pillow you would cut the fabric 10" x 16". Or if you want the opening to run the opposite way, you would cut for a 6"x10" pillow, which would be fabric 6" x 24".

You all have some great ideas. I think I'll try them both, Cluster Stuff and a quilted top with a zipper!! We're getting ready to repaint her room. It's been purple for 5 years. Now I can make something that matches the new colors. Thanks, I knew I could count on you guys!!

I find the only stuffing for pillows that remains soft for me, are the foam chips. They are messy to stuff a pillow with but I can throw my pillows in the washer and dryer with no problems. I get a bag in the craft aisle for $3 at the Walmart.
