Well they are really not pop ups here on the board...it is the advertising banners at the top or bottom of the pages. We probably should have said they "pop out" and catch our attention, they are not the typical pop up ads, that open in another window.
That is where the bikini woman laying down advertising a diet is, she is who we laughingly call "our stalker" as she was appearing very often here.

If you're getting pop-ups from companies other than the message board, you could have ad-ware or spyware on your computer. Running a full system scan can get rid of some of that, or download the free version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware to wipe it out. I use Ad Muncher, so I don't see the banner ads - it was worth the $25 for the peace it rbought!

Oh I don't mind the ads and some of them can be quite amusing , but some woman trying to convince me she is losing weight while lying on her side :? Give me a break ! If only it was that easy :hunf:

I hope that bikini lady is gone until after the holidays. I don't need to be reminded how many cookies I've already eaten. I'll start my diet on Jan.1. Hmmm--I think I said that last Jan 1. And the one before that....
