You need to go to a true UPS/FEDX store they don't add those extra
it's the mailing store they are not owned by either of UPS/FEDX.

I always go on the fed ex site and figure out exactly what it will cost me since I am always sending boxes to family members.

Anything over 1 pound is ridiculous at the post office anymore and I found that I can do it cheaper and faster with instant tracking at the fed ex place.

You have to call around as some kinkos (where fed ex usually is) will charge an extra fee. I found one that does not and am now on first name places with Bill who works there. I even have all the labels so I can fill them out at home and have it all ready to go. First $100 is free and after that there is a nominal charge. I use ground an it is still faste an cheaper than ups and post office.

Post office is way out of my price range now, and those package stores even charge a lot for just 44 cent postage.
