I'm Mama D, but I have a friend called "Granddy". I really like that! GRAND D. I should have thought of that sooner....

My grandchildren call me Grammy, but I have a very dear friend that is Granna to her grandchildren. I have always thought this was a neat name.

When you put the label on the quilt, put "made for_______ by (your name) and the other pertinent info. The child will decide what to call you, and it follows that since your husband is Grandpa,or in our case Papa, the child will most likely call you Grandma. Once the two of you fall in love, nothing the parents say will ever change the child's mind or heart.

I find that a lot of times it the child who decides what name they call you. My one niece called my mom Dingo because she ware earrings that hung down. My son called her Grandma and my dad was Papa.his other grandma was Grammy he didn't know his Grandpa on that side as he was passed away. My son also wouldn't call my girlfriend by her name as it was the same as mine she was Lala only his mom was Linda.

In my family, my dil's mother is the grandma and I am the mimi. Kids can say it and it makes everyone happy. This was our name for my father's mother too.
