I'm just wondering if any of you use Google Chrome and how you like it? I have been going back and forth between Internet Explorer and Firefox, but each one has features I don't like. I use Blogger and Gmail, both of which are Google products.

CajunQuilter2 09-14-2011 07:05 AM

I just started using IGoogle and it took me awhile to figure it all out but I am really liking it better than IE. Have not tried Google Chrome as of yet. Not sure what the difference is between IGoogle and Google Chrome

purplemem 09-14-2011 07:25 AM

I use Google Chrome and love it.

No problems from here.

Peckish 09-14-2011 07:26 AM

My teenage son uses Chrome, he has complaints about it but I'm not sure specifically what they are. I use Firefox and LOVE it, especially the ad blocker.

Glassquilt 09-14-2011 07:29 AM

Yea Adblock Plus!!!

crazyrvquilter 09-14-2011 07:32 AM

I recently switched to Chrome from Explorer and I find that it is much faster. My only complaint is printing. I haven't figured out how to change the size and I can hardly read what I print out.

My DSL set me up with it about two years ago. I love it.

Lacelady 09-14-2011 08:35 AM

I like it too - I changed partly because it had a spell checker facility which Internet Explorer doesn't. A bonus for me is that the header takes up about half the space of IE, and with a notebook that makes a big difference.

Only downside I have found is that a lot of the threads on this board don't automatically load the pics, but I hit the back arrow, then the forward one and that seems to jolt them onto my screen!

grammajojo 09-14-2011 08:56 AM

I like Google Chrome very much. I was using Safari and like Chrome much better.

CoyoteQuilts 09-14-2011 09:20 AM

I went from Firefox to Goggle Chrome. Prefer Google Chrome, but some of my sites won't let me use it so have to log in on Firefox.

mom-6 09-14-2011 09:40 AM

No problems so far. Like the feature warning of sites that have been infected with malware and can click to window detailing the problem and how recently observed.

I still use Internet Explorer, so I can access my favorites in yahoo, Don't see where I can switch them to google chrome.

Are you saying there is not a "favorites" or a "bookmarks" button on Google Chrome?

ann clare 09-14-2011 09:55 AM

Have Google Chrome and love it.

Kitsie 09-14-2011 10:41 AM

Me, too. Was told by computer guru that by using Firefox you'll get less spam because most of the spam goes on the most popular servers like AOL and through IE.

I'm quite happy with Firefox. For those that can't get .pdf's to download through firefox, there is a free add-on called Foxit reader that is wonderful!

lfletcher 09-14-2011 10:47 AM

I use Google Chrome because my son bought me a new computer last year when mine crashed and insisted that I use it along with Firefox and Thunderbird. He's my computer guru so I do everything he says. I like it just fine.

lfletcher 09-14-2011 10:52 AM

You can bookmark. You just click the little star to the right at the browser bar. You click the tool symbol next to that for other options. There's just not a menu bar visible when you bring Chrome up.

pipp5 09-14-2011 11:54 AM

I've switched all my computers over to Chrome. I think it's a lot faster than IE. There are only a few sites that don't work with Chrome, but most of them are places I only have to access very rarely.

sewwhat85 09-14-2011 01:46 PM

i have been using google chrome

CoventryUK 09-14-2011 01:54 PM

Yes! I use Google Chrome, have no problems!!

jeanne307 09-14-2011 02:01 PM

I use Firefox... dont like internet explorer and have never tried any of the google products. I use Blogger too and have never had a problem with Firefox and blogger.

What does Thunderbird do and why do you like it ? Just curious, not being critical! I like the Google products a lot!

I had IE8 for a short time and it caused my computer to crash three times. I uninstalled it and installed Google Chrome and have been using it for over a year now. No problems at all. And, not only can I bookmark favorites, I have a few different lists I can send them to to keep track. Too many problems w/ IE, and many of my work programs aren't supported by it, so I stick w/ Chrome both at work and at home.

Thunderbird is a free email program, like Outlook. It's made by Mozilla, the same people who do Firefox.

DogHouseMom 09-14-2011 03:51 PM

Funny you should ask. I used Chrome for the first time about 1/2 hour ago to sign on to the board, and dumped it immediately. It looked different, I didn't have all the links at the top (missing search, user search, etc) plus there were far more ad's and in annoying places than I get on either Firefox (my preference) or IE (which I use at work).

I might spend more time with Chrome and see if I can set preferences, but so far not impressed.

Thanks! I don't send a lot of mail and use gmail from Google. It works just fine.

Will have to try Thunderbird, though.

judy_68 09-14-2011 03:52 PM

I use Google. It seems to work fine. My son says its safer.

Have been using Chrome for a couple of years ... Internet Explorer is just soooo sloooowww ... Chrome has worked very well, am very happy with it.

You can definitely bookmark in Chrome, and import any of your existing bookmarks/favourites. Click on the 'wrench' icon to get to the tools to manage Chrome.

Sheila_H 09-14-2011 05:39 PM

I find that iGoogle has really slowed my machine down so I can barely use my IE browser, I haven't tried Chrome yet but I have started using Firefox a lot and its definitely faster.

Glassquilt 09-14-2011 05:41 PM

I was told keep IE for updating. That's all I use it for

"iGoogle" is a personalized Google home page, not a browser.

To see what browser you're using, you can usually go to the 'Help' and 'About' menu of your application.

Borgie3 09-14-2011 06:18 PM

I'm not especially 'puter savvy so don't know how Chrome showed up on my computer but I constantly get a pop up box saying Chrome stopped working. Anyone else experience that?

Krystyna 09-15-2011 03:39 AM

I alternate between Chrome, IE and Firefox depending on what I'm doing. I was most comfortable with IE but it kept freezing and crashing, so I moved onto Firefox. Some problems there, too, but I use it for printing postage. Reading this on Chrome now.

alleyoop1 09-15-2011 03:56 AM

Yes, I use Google Chrome and I love it. However, some sites won't work on it and then I have to open up Internet Explorer - but that is very rare.

sandrabrueggeman 09-15-2011 04:04 AM

I have Google and it has its moments but all in all its okay.

3incollege 09-15-2011 04:04 AM

I use chrome and like it better than the exporer. However I can't sign onto the board , because I have to sign in and I can't remember my password.

jitkaau 09-15-2011 04:59 AM

I used to use Firefox but have used Chrome for a while now. I find it user friendly and good features are available.

olebat 09-15-2011 05:37 AM

Contented Chrome user here. Have to use IE at work, and it drives me nutty. (short drive) Have M.Fox on one of the laptops, and not real comfortable with it. IE uses Bing at work for a browser, now there is a near worthless program for my use. Definitely a Google fan for most things.

olebat 09-15-2011 05:38 AM

Google will remember your password once you remember it.

unclefreckles 09-15-2011 05:44 AM

I use Google Chrome at home and both IE and Mozilla (Firefox) at work

I do like Google Chrome very well
