anyone watching Wayward Pines tonight?

anyone watching??? it might be like secrets and lies or the done, don't want to miss a good one.
it's advertised as being 10 weeks long, so we know they have to finish it in the time allotted.
so, who's watching. (It does look a bit scary to me).

lynnie 05-14-2015 05:23 PM

started watching it, saw the dead guy in bed, and it scared the bejeebs outta me. anyone else see it?

PABerard 05-14-2015 05:25 PM

I am. Not sure where this is going though...

lynnie 05-14-2015 05:40 PM

was too scary for me and I was looking forward to it too. M Night Shalamn did it, so I should have know it would creep me out.

PABerard 05-14-2015 05:51 PM

It was too dark for me, sadly. It got a really good write up by the curmudgeon in the Washington Post too. Darn. Oh well, off to watch the Nat's game.

lynnie 05-14-2015 06:09 PM

did you watch the whole show? was it scary throughout? should I give it another try?

I'm afraid of nightmares.
oh and the detective from Secrets and Lies was in this one too.

yngldy 05-14-2015 06:27 PM

I plan on watching it when it comes on here in a couple hours. The detective from S&L's, the woman? Who is she? What did she play on before? I can't place her, but have seen her before, somewhere.

Susanna10 05-14-2015 07:17 PM

I missed it. Will there be a rerun later this week?????

judy363905 05-14-2015 09:32 PM

Dvd'd it and will watch in daylight. Really liked the detective in Secrets and Lies...she was also the sister of a Lawyer in a show a few years back..he was her brother -- same actor As Laura's ex in Mysteries of Laura. I get sucked into some crazy shows, but oh well I can always hit the select button. :)

When I saw name of author/writer/creator...name above...I knew I wasn't going to watch...I once got into another tale of his and the ending was so bizarre.......hopefully I'll find something else to watch in that time slot

coopah 05-15-2015 04:41 AM

I don't watch anything scary, violent, or with blatant sex scenes (The Good Wife is now on my 'no watch' list). I know all that 'stuff' is out there, but I just don't want it in my home. And then there are the ads on TV...so I pretty much stick to PBS and History...stuff like that.

Roberta 05-15-2015 04:41 AM

Is it a network show or a Netflix one? I've never heard of it but love scary stories.

linkd 05-15-2015 08:28 AM

I watched about the first 40 minutes, my DH made it through the whole thing. It reminds us of the old program "The Prisoner" starring Patrick McGoohan (sp?). I don't think either one of us will watch it again.
I agree with Geri - there is not much in that time slot.

sparkys_mom 05-15-2015 09:32 AM

I read the books. It is pretty interesting.

judy363905 05-15-2015 09:44 AM

Just watched the recording from last night. Love the mystery of what the heck is going on in this town. Yes this is my kind of show. Hubby will not watch lol

Ps was surprised to see Matt Dillon ...he matured nicely. Love that voice :)

ManiacQuilter2 05-15-2015 09:56 AM

TOO scarey for me Lynnie. Verizon cut a lot of my channels with their reorganization so I am waiting to change providers.

lynnie 05-15-2015 12:02 PM

the one who played the detective on S&L is the bar keep in the show. she made him a
'bloody' burger. scared me to bits. not so intriguing as S&L, anyone watch it all the way thru?
should I catch it in reruns, or will I have nightmares?

CDimiceli 05-15-2015 12:04 PM

I watched it... pretty interesting... especially when the two men met in the rain and one wanted to 'stop' something and the other said that wasn't possible. Its only a 10 episode run and I read where everything would be explained in episode # 5.. I'll continue watching...

mac 05-15-2015 12:21 PM

I didn't realize it was on and missed the first half of the show. I recorded the series from the middle of the show on. I hope they will replay it so I can see what I missed.

lynnie 05-15-2015 03:25 PM

Mac, so far Matt dillion wakes in a weird hospital with no one around, gets out and goes to a diner where the cop from Secrets & Lies
tends bar. he goes to her house the bar tender, to try and find her and walks into a broken down house with a dead man in the bedroom, that was the first 15 minutes and I got scared and turned it off,. Maybe someone can fill in the next 15 minutes for you. it sounds like one of my nightmares for sure.

Thanks for the up-date, it helps piece some things together. Sorry you got scared. M. Night S. can do some pretty scary movies.

lynnie 05-15-2015 05:54 PM

'm a wimp on scary stuff I was hoping it would be like S&L
what happened after that? should I give it another try or will it give me the hebe jee bees again?

LilaKay 05-16-2015 02:30 AM

Just found out I can get it free with my Amazon Prime membership....looks like a good show

IshtarsMom 05-16-2015 03:48 AM

I was reading the series when I saw it was going to be on TV. Thought it was going to be a movie so I hurriedly finished the last book in the trilogy only to discover it was going to be a series. Truthfully I would have finished it quickly anyway because I skim the gore pages. Don't need those images living in my head. I enjoyed the story and characters. Should be good...only difference ..in the book Pam is young and totally gorgeous and the son is younger. I'll be watching simply because I have read the books... Amazon's Kindle Unlimited is amazing....have read 62 books since our son gave up the subscription for Christmas...lots of new authors to try. Mostly gave up TV since if I like it they cancel it.

ladydukes 05-16-2015 06:48 AM

After seeing the post about Wayward Pines, I looked to see if it was automatically recorded with my Dish, and it was so I watched it. Sounds intriguing. I sure hope it does not turn out to be something like The Dome or Extant. We started watching Extant and it just got ridiculous so it isn't on our "radar screen" to watch the second season of it.

I agree, it seems all the "series" that were "good" are now getting so convoluted I am really having a hard time keeping track of who's who...The Following, Scandal, and a few others I have given up on........LOST was the first most confusing to me and now they're all going that way....wayward pines is probably just a "dream" at the end.....just kidding!

Ditter43 05-16-2015 12:27 PM

Well I guess I will watch it alone! My hubby doesn't like scary shows. I know it's not real so it doesn't scare me. What goes on in real life......that is what scares me!

nana20010 05-16-2015 01:00 PM

Wanted to watch it did I miss the first part will have to see if it's on demand

PABerard 05-16-2015 06:51 PM

So I watched it again today and liked it a lot better. No, it was not scarier after the first SS agent was found in the bed. Scary like that crazy nurse, but so far no more bodies. I'll watch the next episode, but if it gets too odd I'll throw in the towel. Sci-fy just isn't in my color palette.

Geri B 05-17-2015 07:54 AM

I was not planning on watching this, but after reading the posts here, I became curious so I found it on demand,,took out some hand work and turned in to....hohum........weird, is all I can say...I hate stories that flip back and forth...past, present........not scary at all...more scary stuff on criminal minds,NCIS, etc... Not planning to put thus one on my list of "watch this one".....

Onebyone 05-17-2015 10:40 AM

I wait for the whole season or series to be streamed and watch it all the way through several episodes at a time. I tend to forget what happened from one show to the next or forget and miss an episode.

Ditter43 05-17-2015 04:32 PM

Well, I watched the first episode last night on Hulu. For me, not scary, bordered on boring. I guess I will watch another episode before I decide about the rest......

quiltjoey 05-21-2015 07:56 PM

Just weird at this point. Makes no sense except the sheriff won't let anyone leave town once they are there. There's a cemetery without names/dates on the all the old, decrepit headstones. The sheriff cut a woman's throat in the town center for trying to leave.
Not scary to me just silly at this point. May get better…

lynnie 05-22-2015 11:30 AM

didn't watch it last night, dh was watching 500?.
way tooooo creepy to me. sounds like it got worse last night.

ro 05-22-2015 01:25 PM

lynnie I've watched it. kinds creepy. you really gotta pay attention to it. reminds me of the following. i'll watch it!

Chasing Hawk 06-13-2015 04:43 PM

I watched the first 5 episodes yesterday. It started out slow but got interesting as it progressed.
I have it set to record on the Hopper, so convenient to use. I record all our shows we watch regularly on the Hopper.

Its nice to see Matt Dillon fit and back to work on something decent. I loved him in the Outsiders.

JuneBillie 06-14-2015 05:18 AM

I have watched all of them, and it gets more and more interesting. The last episode really left me wanting to see the next. I couldn't miss it now at all. Great mystery, but is falling in place now.

I also don't like shows with sex stuff, nothing but curse words (surely they learned how to speak more than just 4 letter words), violent shows like criminal minds, but love most animal and nature shows. We love good hearted shows like the little couple, and good hearted movies. I agree we know all this is out there, but I do not invite it into my home. :)

ro 06-14-2015 06:01 AM

ive watched the whole series. i dont know about scary, but i'll grant you weird. found it interesting that one of the stars Terrence howard was killed, or was he. as I said prior you sure gotta pay attention.

Geri B 06-14-2015 06:16 AM

I I think it's going to be like LOST! Started watching that thing, then it got so convoluted I gave up, then someone told me the end.....really stupid.....so I refuse to get caught up in that again!
