Earlene Fowler writes books about quilting. The books are mysteries and has repeat characters in her books. All her books are named for quilt blocks. Easy read and clean too.

Jan Karon has a wonderful series of books. Relaxing reading.

Wanda Brunstetter has many books and I haven't found one I didn't like yet.

I started reading Amish related books by Beverly Lewis a few years ago, DH just got me a new one for Christmas.
Her mother came from "plain" roots and she does a great job of taking you away, to a very simple lifestyle. I love these books !

Another interesting series is Jan Caron's "Mitford Series." They are wonderfully descriptive of the small town of Blowing Rock, NC (Mitford) and the characters who live there.

I really love audio books and listen to them while working on projects, but some books do not come on audio. You can get them free from the library, or online from the library.

barbara Lewis writes good books of this kind too.

I love the Amish books. We have an Amish settlement about 45 minutes away and I love going there. It's a great place to purchase the books too. Wanda Brunstetter and several of the others publish a lot in series. Make sure you start with the beginning of the series.

Just today I finished my first Elm Creek book and I have to admit, it will be my last. I found it trite and repetitive. By the time I finished it I found myself thinking that if I heard the name of those quilters one more time I'd get physically ill. The basic story line was okay but reading that name over and over and over again was horrible. It was the Aloha Quilt and I did enjoy reading about the history behind Hawaiian quilts.

This is a new author to me. I love quilting and love cozy mysterires. I went straight to Half.com and ordered the first in the series. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for posting!
