I always give gifts that are for the person. My husband's grandmother loved the last Christmas gift we gave her as if we had given her a million dollars... what was it? A home canned jar of applesauce!

Wow -- danger pudding sounds awesome!! It is great to get something you want as a gift. My DS gets me baseball tickets every Mother's Day -- for sometime in July or August so I can be warm at the ball park. It is the only time I can go.

My most memorable Christmas gift from childhood was a can of Black olives. I didn't have to share it with anyone! To this day I still love black olives.

yep, used to love the thick condensed milk when i was younger. the evaporated milk is what my hubby used to use in his coffee but these days , no matter the brand i get, is all watery looking and it icky to me. my cat wont' touch it now.

One of the best Birthday gifts was in the 50's and that you young ones was before global foods and imported foods. Late April, but my dad found a fresh watermellon it must of been pricey................my mom tried freezing watermellon. Nope, and now there just isn't the flavor that they used to have. However, the variety of Black Diamond isn't too bad.............the foods have been and are being altered or my taste buds are being altered. Food doesn't taste like it used to...............JMO................calla
