Do you know- Are some of the specials for only certain hours?
What happened to Thanksgiving.

I refuse to do battle for cheap consumer goods. We stay home and enjoy leftovers, play board games and in general enjoy our holiday.

I am with you. We are probably in the minority. No discount on this planet is worth the crowds, fighting and lack of sleep! ROFL Although, I don't spend a whole lot for Christmas gifts.....

Amen sister!! what does all this shopping and battling have to do with the original intent of the holiday.

I hate crowds and would cross the street to avoid one. Plus I do not like shopping.

I don't battle the crowds on the roads nor the stores but online is fun... if you happen to be in the market for a big ticket item.

I did Black Friday one time before it was called Black Friday. NEVER AGAIN have I been so dumb. I had my daughter and one year old granddaughter and those people would have trampled them if we got in the way. But we headed for the door and got safely away. We have never done that again.

I used to back in my younger days! It was an outing with my sisters and mom but since our mom passed (over 10 years ago) we gradually stopped. If we did go, it was in the afternoon. If we see something we just HAVE to have, we will send the guys to stand in line at midnight!! HeHe!! Now, I pre-shop on line and as soon as the new prices kick in, I place my orders!!

I got the Wal-Mart Black Friday Week email but haven't taken the time to browse!!

Living in Canada we do not have Black Friday, though some stores near the border are thinking of doing sales that day to stop Canadians from heading south to get the deals.

We do however have Boxing Day Sales on December 26th. Similar to Black Friday, people would line up early to get the best deals. One music store had really low prices on components that one day.

Our fabric chain had a big sale last weekend with 50% off on just about everything.

I have only once got up really early for a super sale. I bought the fabric for my wedding dress at 70% off 21 years ago. It was worth getting up early to buy it.
