All my furry friends have gone over rainbow bridge now---Penny, my beautiful red Irish setter Sarah and Katie, the smartest yellow and black labs , Lucy my african gray parrot and lastly Jabba, my heartstrings pug. I have one bird left--a white and pink bare eyed cockatoo named peaches.

I have a niece, boston! Molly loves to sit in my lap and whisper to me. Her mother thinks its a hoot because she doesn't do this for anyone else. I told her I rub bacon on my ear before I come to her house.

I love just about any type of dog!
We have a yellow lab, Charlie, a golden retriever named Misty, and a Old English Bulldog named Noel.

Oh we have six rescue dogs, and 5 adopted kitties. Our son in Florida has an adorable Boston - Heidi. They visited at Christmas and she is a little doll. One day I hope to have a little girl Boston!!!!! gloria g.

Try 2 Jack Russell Terrers! What energy - they just never grow up as far as energy goes. But they are our kids in fur coats and we love them.

teacherbailey 01-16-2011 07:05 AM

An Australian Shepherd mix named Winston, a Beagle named Carly, a German Shepherd mix named Piper, a teenage pit bull (maybe mix?) named Belle, and a pit bull puppy (maybe mix?) named Marco. You can see Belle by going to www.ourpack.org and looking at the 2011 calendar; she is on January's page!

bodie358 01-16-2011 07:15 AM

I have always wanted a Jack Russell. I will get one when I retire because they need to be constantly monitored - LOL.

bodie358 01-16-2011 07:15 AM

I love all dogs and I am enjoying all the pics and posts.

doglover 01-16-2011 07:27 AM

My first dog was a 3 lb chi who only lived 4 years. she was always sick. Then I got into volunteer and had many rescue dogs in my home then retired. I was looking for a yorkie (a dog I have wanted since I was a child) and ended up finding a boston terrier pup who was (in my opinion) being abused, so I took her. She is the smartest dog I have ever had. She has to be within 12 inches of me at all times and when I talk, she tilts her head like she knows what I am talking about. Guess I won't get that yorkie in this life now.

Two BTs, two chows (outdoors), and one tomcat (outdoors).

Bernie942 01-16-2011 08:08 AM

Bowser, my avatar, half lab half beagle, owns me. Very easy going even tempered baby. All he really insists on is his morning backscratch and massage.

judykay 01-16-2011 08:38 AM

Black Lab Boxer & a Boston terrier who is the youngest and the ruler of the roost. The other two are both males and the Boston Terror (as we call her) is a female. She is two years old and likes to mother the two older & larger dogs. Sometimes we think she is part kitten the way she cleans the other dogs & clings to them. She will not sleep without being curled up with one of them. We love all three of them and they are all great with kids.

fivepaws 01-16-2011 08:55 AM

We have two Chinese Crested hairless, a long-haired chihuahua, and my Avatar pups, Mal-shi's named Maggie and Molly.

Just Jane 01-16-2011 09:02 AM

We had a schnoodle a few years back, Joey. She was so adorable! Black with silky curls -- didn't shed, either! Very intelligent and very lovable! Miss her so much! We now have a Sheltie, Fancy, a Schnauzer, McGee, and a Rat Terrier, Munchkin. The Sheltie we bought from a friend, the Schnauzer we found at the Humane Society, and the Rat Terrier found us -- walked up our driveway like she lived here. Love them all!!!!

Don't know what he is but he sure makes me happy. Someone dumped him as a pup and at 4 years old he still hides under the bed if there is a loud noise. Gets very upset if something is out of place or added to his territory. Might be a good challenge for the dog whisperer.

We have always had cockers and put our last puppy down last November. DD got a little boston in April 2010 and he isjust the cutest puppy. She comes home every Sunday and ofcourse Charlie Bean comes to visit also. I have a fleece blanket that he just loves, no matter who has it he swipes it from them. Here are a few pictures of our cuttie, DH and I will be getting one in the spring and I can't wait for the fun to begin.

OMG! Look at those ears! Love him!

Gigix12 01-16-2011 11:08 AM

OMG Your Charlie Bean is just too adorable...ours has a white eye too. And Sushi loves to tear up her toys and then gives you "the look".

sunrise450 01-16-2011 11:40 AM

We are owned by two bostons. We have always had dogs and some I have loved more than others but these two take the cake! They are loving, michevious(sp?), really really smart, and wonderful companions.

grmamrtha1 01-16-2011 12:56 PM

If and when I learn how to do an avatar, I'll show you my Boxer Sarge, who is 2 1/2, and my Boston Boomer, who we just sent to Heaven in November, was 13. I totally love them both. I am amazed at how much Sarge misses Boomer. I'm NOT amazed at how much I miss him. I love how some of you call it the "Rainbow Bridge". I might have to adopt that saying. I also have a 13 year old Siamese Precious, a 13 year old Yorkie Granddog named Wickett, and a 3 year old Boxer Granddog named Duke.

bodie358 01-16-2011 01:11 PM

Do a search on Google for Rainbow Bridge. Its a wonderful poem written about losing one's dog. Warning- its a real tear jerker.

Avatar picture - Tabitha (Bichon); Smooter (Shih Tzu); and Zippy (Bichon). All rescues. Not sure how "smart" they are but they do have us trained pretty good.

quilter on the eastern edge 01-16-2011 04:43 PM

I just love all the great names you have all given your pups!

RetiredDiva 01-16-2011 04:56 PM

We got Zippy two years ago Christmas. Picture trying to find him in Iowa among the snowdrifts in the middle of the night. He had gotten free 4 times in the first 2 hours at our place. Thus, the name Zippy. He does love to run. The first 6 months he was with us was certainly a learning experience. Loads of fun, all three of them.

DeneK 01-16-2011 05:11 PM

Ours are: Cascio - 14 yo Maltese; Maggie - Golden Retriever; Darcy - pound puppy; Max - Shih Tzu mix; Paris, Gracie, Jewely, Jay Jay, Vikki - our 5 Bichons.

We are the retirement home for 4 former show Bichons. All the rest are a rescue of one sort or another.

I will never have another Jack Russell! Ours was rescued as a tiny puppy and has lived all 10 years with us BUT he is the smartest, most hard headed alpha animal I have ever known. We love him but will not go thru this again! He actually is on what I refer to as "doggie ritalin" so he can slow down a little and enjoy life :)
Our beagle and the 2 bostons we had were awesome compared to this little hellion. We've had labs, collies and shephards also.

Dene - Oh my, it must be a quite a sight when you mention a "treat" with 9 fur babies at your heels. However, they are probably better trained then ours. Did your Bichons ever get so they accept any attempts at grooming? Mention "bath" around here and they all disappear. Such fun.

sassey 01-16-2011 06:06 PM

I just adopted a 4 year old Pom that totally ownes me she managed to do this in less than a week she is so sweet and loving. I envy everyone who has a Boxer they are such outstanding pets but I am not able to take care of a large dog

pasovasz 01-16-2011 06:23 PM

We have a Kuvasz. (Google the breed to see photos)

Usually, they are Livestock Guard Dogs. We adopt Second Hand Dogs. All have been great dogs-they become inside dogs and sleep on the couch!

chris_quilts 01-16-2011 07:15 PM

I am owned by 3 cats, all resuces and mixes. I also am owned by a German Shepherd, Maya, and a boxer, Buddy, both also are rescues. Yes they all own me and they know that I know it. My babies are spolied. We let our Siberian go to the Rainbow Bridge last May. Miss him still even though he was one stubborn but extremely intelligent dog. Would love to have another one but do not miss the hair. He had blue eyes and was spoiled also. we generally resuce the animals - they seem to find us. A neighbor says we emit a signal that only rescue animals can sense/hear.

Our current BT is our second one. Our first one, Girlie, had to be put to sleep in 1998. Lady, our second and current BT is 11 years old but still acts like a puppy!

This video was taken Saturday when I needed to give her a bath. She hates baths so she thought if she ignored me, I'd go away. LOL

Sorry the video is on it's side. :(
