tmsrich 01-16-2011 08:35 PM

We do not own any dogs or cats for that matter
We do however have two Grand dogs who visit regularly
Freya a beautiful golden retriever who is so gentle and well trained by our oldest son
and Reba who was rescued from some puppy pound owned by our youngest Son and Wife - she however is a little needy (perhaps because of the puppy pound thing)
Both are welcome in our home (even though a lot of people think we are crazy) we spoil them as much as we do the grandchild!!!

I'm on my second Miniature schnauzer. Her name is Neeka, but most often she's "naughty neeka". But my boarder calls her "cigar butt" because that's exactly what her tail looks like.

We have 2 Labs (one yellow, one black) a Husky mix and a little beagle. I love all my fur babies, but Sam the beagle is "dog of my heart" I found him at the Humane Socity a couple of weeks after my Chocolat Lab went to the rainbow bridge. Hershey was also the "dog of my heart"

We rescued the most precious papillion named Bitsie.

earthwalker 01-16-2011 11:51 PM

Me...a little chihuahua x jack russell, my husband, malamute x staffy.

I would really love to own a greyhound...love them..the look, personality, the whole package. Not to be, for some while....we can only have 2 dogs in our shire at one time. So maybe long in the future (I want our "current boys" to be around a good long time).

Linsoblu 01-17-2011 01:27 AM

I have 3 mini dachshunds Greta, Dieter and Fonzie. Greta is the boss, Dieter is my shy quiet boy some days we only see him when they go outside he likes be under the covers he really is a different kind of dog, Fonzie is my cuddlier and has to be touching you all the time. Then there is my mini Aussie Shepherd Amber I call her my dog from hell, but I love her. You have to watch her all the time or she's into something she not supposed to be into. Dieter I have to tell you this I made a fleece cover for his bed he didn't lay on top of it he would be inside it. We had a guy come to do some work on our firer place he started laughing really hard so I went to see what was going on He says that the first time I seen a dog in his own sleeping bag. I've had to pull this dog out of my pant leg a few times because he was stuck when I didn't put them in the hamper.

We just lost our BT mix (Louie) of 12 l/2 years recently. We currently have a plus size Rat Terrier rescue and a Akita/Border Collie mix rescue. We are waiting on a home visit from the BT Rescue group. In 2007 I had a stoke and the only pet I could remember the name of was Louie. He was my husband's dog...the only other male in our household. I know we won't be able to replace Louie, but we sure want another BT.

I have a rescued chihuahua now since october 2010, but my very favorite was a boston terrior named Aaron. It was like having a 3 year old around. He died in 1996 and my son left for college that same year. I have never gotten over losing Aaron.

My owner is a Miniture Schnauzer... named Lexi. My first schnauzer was calm and obedient. Lexi is a totally different story. She has a huge personality.. one hour she wants to play fight, then she wants to snuggle, then she wants to be left alone,... she is soooooo different from my first one (which was a male). I love her to pieces, she definately brings alot of laughs and excitement to our house.

rainagade 01-17-2011 08:45 AM

15 year old peekapoo, 14 year old beagle mix, and a 4 year old German Shepherd with a split personality!

tess10 01-18-2011 08:14 AM

We have a boston terrier and they are the most loving and wonderful dog ever. Her name is "Baby" and she is a "velco" dog (always stuck to me). She is our third boston and I will never be without one! We also have a german shepard about 8 years old, but when she is gone we won't have anymore large dogs.

Our BT loved laying/sleeping in front of the wood stove when we had it. We have since changed it out for a rice-coal stove and there is nowhere on the hearth for her to lay down. Now she climbs on the back of the sofa and watches out the window or lays on the sofa on a sofa pillow.

The first picture is of her waiting...watching as my husband got the fire started in the wood stove.

The next 2 are of her sitting on the back of the sofa watching out the window...ever the Protector! :)

Ricky, my Australian cow dog, is our dog. We rescued her from the humane society...

biscuitqueen 01-18-2011 09:19 PM

I have rescued a yellow lab, she's 6 now. what a hoot, totally a "Marley" not allowed at the table tho, but has eaten most of what is in the back yard, no shoes---how odd. I also have a 18 yr old this year, golden/husky mix. and doesnt act a day over 10, she still will play w/ the lab every once in awhile. I think it has every thing to do with her diet, she's never had people food, except a beef bone from the store. never been to the vet except for a spay and shots. I wish I knew how to post a picture of her.

I dont think there is any limit to the number of things this dog can learn.

Wow! How did you teach them to do all that?
